Yup, my 3rd Brain…its up and running!

As many of you who know me personally, I like to use the December - January holiday season to create, explore, and deploy new technologies.  It’s my 'invention time'.  In the 2020-2021 season, it was radio frequency (RF) fingerprinting (take 10 iPhones, and I could tell you which one was which even if you switched out the SIM cards).  Another year was submitting proposals on electronic warfare payloads that were hosted on very small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Two years ago (2022-2023) I was adding a "3rd Brain" to my project portfolio.  It was an experiment on creating a Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) system of my own.

1st Brain - what's in my head.  All the important items I need to immediately recall.

2nd Brain - what I have in digital or written form that I use to remember important information.  Think of your contacts list on your cell phone.  The phone number of friends and family are important, but I have the digital contact list to store them all. My 2nd Brain also includes digital storage of documents, product receipts, etc. in tools such as SharePoint or Ever Note.

3rd Brain - something that I've wanted to create for a long time.  I've used mind mappers, and even mind mapping tools that stored attachments, had nested levels, etc.  But none of them were really a repository of more information than I put into them.  With the advent of ChatGPT, digital humans, and AI Agents, we can now create a place where we can ask questions, get natural language answers, and even put a face to the user interface.
